Erasmus Experience: My Budapest Adventures
My Erasmus program provided me with a life-changing opportunity to study abroad, and one of the highlights of my experience was my two visits to Budapest. During my first visit, I traveled during Easter weekend, and the journey involved two long and uncomfortable trips that cost me approximately 50€. Despite the travel woes, I enjoyed exploring Pest on the first day, and the second day was dedicated to exploring Buda, where we visited the Castle Hill, the Buda Hills, and the Labyrinth. Unfortunately, the weather was not ideal, and many tourist attractions only accepted cash payments, which made the visit somewhat uncomfortable.
The second visit was with a different group of friends, and although I had already explored the city, I had a great time revisiting some of the places I had seen before. The city was still as stunning as I remembered, and even though the weather was not great, I enjoyed everything that Budapest had to offer. The city has something for everyone, whether you're interested in architecture, history, food, or nightlife. Even though Budapest was more expensive than I expected, I didn't let that stop me from having a good time.
Budapest is a city that blends history, culture, and modernity. The city is home to many famous landmarks such as the Hungarian Parliament Building, the Fisherman's Bastion, and the Chain Bridge. It is also famous for its thermal baths, which are a great way to relax after a day of exploring the city. Despite my preference for Prague, I would still highly recommend Budapest as a must-visit destination.
In conclusion, my visits to Budapest were unforgettable experiences that I will always cherish. The city's architecture, history, and culture are unique, and it's a place that everyone should visit at least once. Despite the long journeys and less-than-ideal weather, I had an amazing time exploring Budapest with different groups of friends. I hope to go back someday and explore more of what the city has to offer.
