My time in Erasmus:
Writing about the Erasmus experience is not an easy task, especially when it comes to reflecting on the progress made in a few weeks and when we know that it’s an exercise who we already did just two weeks ago. But nonetheless in this second part of my Erasmus experience in Ostrava, I will discuss the progress made in my courses and the amazing opportunities that this program offers for travel and meeting new people.
Regarding my courses, we are now getting used to the rhythm of the classes. However, the number of assignments and project deadlines is increasing, which can be a little much, particularly when we have to find a job/internship for this summer. The algorithm course, which seemed difficult at first due to our unfamiliarity with the C++ programming language, is not so hard after all due to the fact that we have learned similar programming languages to C++ (such as C and CSS), which have helped us grasp the basics. However, the assembly course, which teaches the assembly language, is becoming increasingly challenging due to the extreme difficulty of learning a new language who is not similar to any other language that we learned. Although other courses are going well, I must pay extra attention to math, as it is not my strongest subject. With the final exams approaching, I must push myself to get back on track.
But Erasmus is not just about classes. It's also about discovering new places, meeting new people, and experiencing different cultures. During a weekend trip to Prague with my parents, I got to try traditional Czech food, but not only, as Prague is a capital I had the opportunity to taste other food too (Indian). We visit the famous Prague Castle, and explore the beautiful surrounding neighborhoods, filled with gorgeous embassies. We also watched a rugby match between Ireland and England in an Irish pub, which unfortunately ended in an Irish victory and so a French defeat in this 6 nations tournament.
Looking ahead, a new trip is already being planned with friends, and this time we're headed to Budapest. I am excited of this new discovery, and of the new memories that I will make during this trip.
