An Unforgettable Week in Prague with Théophile

From the point of view of Richard

Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to visit Prague, the magnificent capital of the Czech Republic. Accompanied by my friend Théophile, we roamed the city, visited numerous monuments, and savored the local cuisine.

Upon our arrival, we began exploring the city, taking the time to admire its impressive architecture and rich historical past. Among the monuments we visited was the Powder Tower, a remnant of the city's original fortifications. Its Gothic architecture immediately captivated us, and the view from its summit offered us a breathtaking panorama of Prague.

Right next to it, we discovered the Municipal House, a jewel of Art Nouveau. Its facade adorned with colorful mosaics, floral motifs, and golden statues amazed us. Then, we attended a performance at the National Theater, an emblematic place of Czech culture. The show lived up to the sumptuous setting of the theater.

During our excursion to St. Vitus Cathedral, we were dazzled by the colorful stained glass windows and sculptural details. We also visited the Church of Saint Nicholas in Malá Strana, a masterpiece of Czech Baroque, and the Astronomical Clock, a true technological and artistic feat of the Middle Ages.

The next day, we opted for a unique sensory experience at the Museum of Senses before discovering the ingenuity of construction at the Museum of Metal Structures. These visits stimulated our curiosity and broadened our horizons.

To top it all off, we visited Prague Castle, an impressive fortress that dominates the city. We also explored Wallenstein Palace, with its sumptuous gardens, populated with peacocks.

On the last day, we decided to indulge ourselves and have dinner in one of the restaurants of the Municipal House. I chose a high-end goulash, a traditional Czech dish, and I can't even begin to describe how delicious it was. The dish was rich, savory, and perfectly seasoned. For dessert, I opted for a slice of chocolate and cherry cake, an explosion of sweet and fruity flavors.

In summary, this week in Prague was a memorable experience. Between the cultural and historical richness, the local gastronomy, and the beauty of the architecture, I discovered a city that won me over. I look forward to returning one day to explore even more of what Prague has to offer.
